It
has been said that more than 600,000 persons dies from the use of tobacco
annually. The world’s leading preventable cause of death which has been
claiming the lives of both young and old and at least 6 million people each is
tobacco use which is a slow, but a sure killer.
Since
2012 the current administration of his Excellency president goodluck Jonathan
has tried to get a tobacco control bill passed. A three-man ministerial team
was step-up and his been led by the honorable minister of health hon. Prof.
Onyebuchi chukwu and charged with the task of drafting an executive bill
In
may & july 2013 on utterance was made to the general public to address the
issue of smoke by the president & the honoral minister of health of health,
but not withstanding there is still no law kept to that effect…….
